With a specialisation in ceramics and metals; having completed her masters in Design in 2015 with a distinction from Brighton University, Souzana returned to Cyprus and founded Souzana Petri Crafts in the historic centre of Nicosia. Souzana’s particular passion and specialisation revolves around the preservation and revival of the ancient history and tradition of Cyprus.

Her work incorporates a modernised and interactive perspective in order to connect the historical dialogue with today’s audience. Within her field her highly acclaimed work has been featured in exhibits in the UK, Italy, Spain and Austria. Her main objective to use art as a peacebuilding practice on a local as well as global scale. Most recently, Souzana was involved with the European programme Rebuild (Rebuilding Society through Youth Engagement) as part of the 2022 European year of the youth. As an ambassador for Cyprus, using her expertise and knowledge in the creative sector, Souzana will help train underrepresented young people to develop their own initiatives and build on skills such as communication and networking at a local and EU level.

Other collaborations include cultural organisations such as the Ministry of Education in Cyprus, Archaeological department of the University of Cyprus, the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation - where she created and developed a youth educational program using the museums private archaeological collection to encourage curiosity in children about Cyprus material, culture and history. Souzana aspires to continue to use art as a means of peace building.

Souzana is known for her global engagement in artistic residencies, where she actively promotes the rich history of Cyprus while continuously expanding her skills through the exploration of new techniques. Her participation in various residencies has taken her to diverse corners of the world, including Normandie, India, and Talavera de la Reina in Spain. During these residencies, Souzana not only contributes to the cultural exchange but also immerses herself in the local artistic scenes, fostering a cross-cultural dialogue and bringing a unique perspective to her work. Also she holds innovative and interactive educational workshops all over the island to teach our local history through her art.
